CRUD CLUB: COSMIC SECOND REWATCH (Weds 27th November, 7.45pm)
Cygnus Bazza
Having defied the critics, shocked the world and amazed ourselves by delivering a wildly successful debut rewatch – a real red-carpet event, in every sense – the Crud Club is set to reload! So, by the power vested in me by the Core Crud Quintet, it is my solemn duty to declare:

LET’S DO THIS!

Time/date: 7.45pm (GMT), Wednesday 27th November.

Event: Well, we’ve had a lot of requests – but we’re going ahead with another rewatch anyway!

So what are we watching/rewatching this time? Prince of Space (1965, 83 minutes); basically, an English-dubbed compilation of two shocking old Japanese films released in 1959: Planet Prince and Planet Prince – The Terrifying Spaceship. YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs5LY...s5LYuSInlU

Synopsis: I’ve literally no idea what happens in this movie but M1 assures me it’s in her All-time Top Ten, just behind Luis Buñuel’s surrealist classic Un Chein Andalou and just ahead of Holiday On the Buses. And that really is good enough for me.

Lol. Well, more than one thing can be true at the same time, of course!

Cygnus Bazza

But is it art?

I'd planned to give you a different 'surprising specialist expertise' and nom de guerre each month. I may rethink that!

Seriously, I can delete the 'Meet the...' section if I've lost the crowd.Grin

Edit: Did it anyway! A Bridge Too Far (and other non-crud films)

Do as you feel fit, CB. This is your bag. Laughs allowed.

Just giving this thread a discreet bump, as our next countdown to codswallop is very much under way... I'm guessing this will count as Crud Club's Christmas 'do'. We'll probably end up arguing over the bill and who did/didn't have a starter. (Any chance of pinning this thread, M1?)

Well...just like Fawlty Towers was a hotel "within reason", there ARE limits. I wouldn't subject Horizon to 'TB unleashed'.Grin

Looking forward to it all. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess.

Yep, Crud Club really is the self-flagellation station.

I may not make this month's deathly instalment of the crud club. Wednesday is my dad's birthday and we may be taking him out. No fixed plans so I may be available. The suspense may kill someone. Who may get killed? Will anyone else be involved? Can this be prevented?

Thanks for the warning. All Civil Defence Units in the Stoke-on-Trent area have had their leave cancelled, as a precautionary measure.

For those of you joining us on the Club de Crud Christmas jolly tomorrow, I've booked the coach for 7.35pm. (Try not to be late.) We'll head into town (any town), singing as we go*, for a bad movie at 7.45pm. Chips on the way home. Well, I say 'home'. Doubtless M1 will be asleep in a hedge by midnight. Again!

* I thought a quick burst of Queen's 'I Want It All' (just to get us in the hedonistic mood), before cracking into some Christmas classics, including the mandatory Sir Cliff-mas medley, then rounding things off with a polyphonic, Thomas Tallis-style version of "I Saw Tarrant Kissing Servalan". Yep. It's gonna be SURREAL...SmileSmileSmile

I don't think we can completely rule it out.

Well, I'm stoked for this...

Evening M1 - ready to party? Is that a bottle of Aldi Asti you're holding?

The coach driver's revving his engine - eager to hit the road, Jax...

M1 must have popped back to the off licence

The waiting's the hardest part, as Mr Petty said. (He was a singer, M1)

Nope, but I have put in a drinks order... I was trying to recall having slept under a hedge, but of course one wouldn't remember much about it... I do recall sleeping in a park shelter.... Good evening all. OSP can't really mean she'd rather enjoy a jolly with the AP than be here watching crap?

I actually should get extra points for doing this. We have the biggest eating Holiday of the year, Thanksgiving, and also a 3 day convention and I was out early shopping and banking and doing all the things which need to be done in the house. Phew! Just made it and still I have to make dinner tonight and make cookies to take to the con. Then tomorrow, massive cooking day and eating at noon, and packing and driving 75 miles to the convention by 3 pm. I'm exhausted just telling you about it. So bring on Prince of Space and the mighty (funny) Krankor.

I remember the x-ray specs, where supposedly you could see under people's clothing!
