I quite like the ending with all their real names. Thanks, Lionel, for a neat little twist.

Similar to the special ending he did for The Railway Children. You've seen THAT film....?

Yes, reminded me a lot of the end of The Railway Children.

I have been present when it was being shown, but I'm not sure I watched every minute. I don't remember the names bit at the end. Good for him, if he did.

Laurence Naismith saying " We 3 kings..." gives me the same thrill as when Jenny Agutter says
" daddy, my daddy"

Indeed!

Definitely an evening well spent. Not sure I'd watch it again, because I know the end now, but it was well done.

Although - not to pick holes in a really lovely film - but, if they were the great-grandchildren of Tom and Sara at the end of the film, whose great-grandchildren were they at the beginning, when Tom and Sara died young?

You soppy little... librarian!

I can't do Shakespearean quotes ( except for "to thine own self be true" ) but lines from classic films and having a song quote for each occasion...I'm your woman!

Read the book. It doesn't explain that but there is a lot of discussion about the wheel of time which was mentioned in the time hopping recipe.
PLUS having watched Day of the Daleks today....Dr Who would say they were caught in a time paradox.

Well, thanks for that, OSP, and for your insights, Anne. Hope your cold clears up OSP. See you for the next rewatch(es) and hopefully Blackadder.

I will have to get the book now. I'm rather enjoying The Box of Delights at the moment. Well, Christmas is a time to read children's books, I suppose.

Then try The Wind on the Moon by Eric Linklater.

Yes, Blackadder's Christmas Carol next week - hooray! And I have been so busy rushing round like a mad thing I haven't even had time to look at the advent calendar - I will need to get up to date over the weekend!

Thanks for the rewatch, both of you!

Apologies for absence. A 'festive merriment agenda' kicked in unexpectedly at the eleventh hour. (Well, the sixth actually.) Won't make next Thurs either, as next week is Xmas Xtreme on the fun 'n' frolix front.

Wot's the plan for 2025? Is (selected???) 'Life on Mars' still on the agenda as a Janvier Jamboree???

We'll have to have a rapid discussion post festivities
