Glogg- Danish?? Well, as a person of Swedish heritage, and a bit of Finnish too- I have to disagree as it is a Swedish drink, me thinks! Of course, Dane, Finn, Swede, Norwegian- hey, they're all a bunch of high foreheaded pale blonds, so what the heck? Of course, the Swedish version of Glogg goes something like this: dump prunes, raisins, cinnamon, cardamon, cloves and almonds into a large pot with water and boil it for 20 minutes. Then add orange peel and sugar, and then finally, add a gallon of port wine, and a pint of alcohol (190 proof). The recipe calls for putting a match to the Glogg, and then cover immediately with a lid to extinguish the flame, lest you blow up the house! Mind you, this recipe was in our Swedish church cook book and I always giggled at the gallon of wine and pint of 190 proof hootch! We Swedes not only love our baked items but we like a nice bit of fire water to wash it down with!

Glogg- Danish?? Well, as a person of Swedish heritage, and a bit of Finnish too- I have to disagree as it is a Swedish drink, me thinks! Sorry to contradict you, but gløgg (asmentioned in the strip) is definitely Danish; the Swedish version is called glögg. Diacritics are very important – Danish øl is something very different from German Öl. Also, the Danish gløgg recipe I have is fairly different from that Swedish brew you mentioned – although I have the feeling that the latter was smuggled into the church recipe book as a prank by a disgruntled altar boy. |

Good for Groucho! Up until now he'd had to make do with the ginger wig, moustache and beard set I bought for Paula when she and Brad were in the UK one year. We got some good mileage out of the ginger wig and goatee. I wore it on a Zoom session we had for our Dungeons and Dragons friends! Someone asked Brad who that 'ravishing red head' was next to him and I looked around but couldn't see anyone besides me and Brad! As for our bird Groucho wearing Groucho glasses and cigar- inspired. Although he'd either fly away in fear of a new thing like that or end up gnawing it to pieces and being very proud of it! Resist the Host
