Has anyone mentioned House of the Dragon from last week? Steven Pacey (aka Del Tarrant) as Lord Gunthor Darklyn in the extremely well received episode "The Red Dragon and the Gold"! Big spoilers if you want to watch a scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVk2M...Vk2MV1JIms |

I don't know if it was mentioned here but I have seen other B7 sites on Facebook mention it and post his scene. Even though short, I was thrilled to see Steven in House of the Dragon!

I think it might be available to watch online via Talking Pictures TV Encore. You will need to register first in order to watch it. Then select it under "War" or "Drama" heading - can't remember which. I'm registered with TPTV Encore, but some shows and films still aren't available to the rest of the world. It's just how it goes, sadly. A couple of years ago I was sobbing about missing something and the response was "you could always move here". Hahahahaha! Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Last nights episode of Dixon of Dock Green. Yet another episode directed by our very own Uncle Vere (dated 1975) and with that chap from Volcano (again) but also the lovely Suzan Farmer (Meegat).

You folk will already know this but I had one of those " bloody hell, it's him!" moments while watching Oliver! the film from 1968...Brian Croucher calling Bullseye over to him near the end of the film... How many times have I seen this film? I should have reviewed the situation a bit sooner...

Just a heads up fellow B7 fans... Paul is in this Saturday evenings Dixon of Dock Green on Talking Pictures. It's called Jackpot and also stars Kenneth Cope.

For some reason we've been rewatching 'Yes, Minister' and spotted Fleet Warden Seymour/Egrorian/ the late lamented Savident playing 'Jumbo'. Great name, good casting - and his comedy timing is brilliant.

Josette Simon (aka Dayna) is in the new The Crow film. Appears briefly in the trailer at about 2.09 delivering a very Blake's Seveny line. https://youtu.be/djSKp_pwmOA?feature=...&t=129 |

Today, I spotted not an actor but an iconic B7 object in a totally unexpected context. Every now and then, there is a new attempt of doing a comic adaptation of the long running German pulp SF series Perry Rhodan. I never bothered to take a closer look at them, even when I was an avid reader of the main series in my teenage years and early twenties. Nonetheless, I stumbled on the title cover of a recent comic version today (while looking for something completely different) - and my jaw dropped. That workstation (or whatever it is meant to be on the picture) looked very familiar; however, I remember it being quite a lot bigger! You can have a look here. It seems that the artist has watched Blake's 7. (Well, either that or he once drove a Vauxhall and has still fond memories of its steering wheel...) |

I was going to say the artist must have been really pleased about the announcement of the Blu-rays,until I realised it was published in 2016! |

This is a bit of a "spotted" tangent but I was reading up on who designed the amazing "lionfish" Minbari Sharlin class war cruiser from Babylon 5. Different ships on the show had different designers but that one in particular was by Ron Thornton. Thornton did the Minbari and Vorlon ships and B5 itself. An amazing pioneer in CGI vfx and artist. And he and his team did the epic sequence where Voyager crashes onto the ice planet in Star Trek: Voyager. Knock me down with a feather when I read his biography and he got his start as Mat Irvine's assistant on... Blake's 7! So much so that he assembled the Scorpio model used in Series D. That's so crazy cool to me Edited by dodgyville on 26-10-2024 01:29 |

It gets even better: Ron Thornton also designed the shuttle seen in Orbit and then used the design as a standard shuttlecraft (with minor alterations) in B5. |

Watched a bit of the great Brian Clemens' 1970s 'Thriller' series at the weekend and the late Stephen Greif showed up in an episode called 'Nightmare for a Nightingale'. Didn't make it to the opening credits, however, being 'dispatched' in fairly short order while under the influence. |

Gets a bit confusing, thanks to ITV's trademark lack of imagination. 'Armchair Thriller' isn't 'Thriller'. 'My' one is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrille...TV_series). One famous episode features David Jackson, our friend Peter Vaughan, Dennis Waterman, Sinead Cusack etc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZCdL...ZCdLU4BsM8 Well worth watching the legendary intro! (It may take you 5 minutes in. Need to click back to the start sharpish!) |

Steven Pacey, briefly, as one of three army doctors who decides Siegfried Sassoon needs to go to Craiglockhart War Hospital in 'Benediction' where he meets Wilfred Owen and the rest is history. It was the voice gave him away immediately. Dicken Ashworth (Gunn Sar), again briefly, In Inspector Morse S5 E3 "Who Killed Harry Field?" Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Yay!!!!On Rewind TV yesterday...DRAKE'S VENTURE starring not only John Thaw (with his lovely Cornish Accent) but our equally lovely Mr D in full Avon mode, as Thomas Doughty. It took almost over an hour for Blake...I mean Drake to get thoroughly annoyed with the conniving Mr D...and Mr D ended up having his head lopped off! I haven't seen Drake's Venture since 1980 and his nibs is sporting that beard from the Adventure Game. If Rewind TV has shown it after all these years, one wonders if the show is now available on DVD! Cold! You don't know the meaning of the word cold! Watched '663 Squadron' last night starring Cliff Robertson, as an American Mosquito pilot leader in the RAF during WWII. One of the WAAF's was Suzan Farmer, Meegat from Deliverance and not only was she in it but her character name was Mary BLAKE! We did laugh at that one. Not TV or Film oriented, but in the clearance carts at my local grocery store were little gnome Christmas ornaments and they were holding name plaques. It seemed that the name 'Caleb' and another name were the only ones which didn't sell so I sifted through the box and found two gnomes with the plaque 'BLAKE' and bought them just because! I know, I'm obsessed. Resist the Host

My mum has been rewatching some of her favorite Tom Baker Doctor Who episodes. I was visiting family, but I got a text from her while she was watching the Sunmakers and said, “Look, it’s Vila!” She was very impressed with how different Michael Keating’s character is in that episode from her favorite thief.
Don’t be sorry. Be quiet.
