It's still horrible.

Do you usually stick to watch with mother level of viewing?

Not as such. But There needs to be something worthwhile going on somewhere. More than just clever ideas, writing, acting and such, there needs to be something that takes it above all the so-called 'grit', or it ends up glorifying it.

B7 is about 'what if?', an exploration of what happens to ordinary people struggling in extraordinary circumstances (which don't actually exist). It brings out different aspects of their personalities, some of which they never previously recognised. We can learn from that.

But doesn't that depend on you having some interest in the characters? And wouldn't it be possible to have a ssimilar interest in Sam?

I was so invested in what was happening to Sam, 1st time around, I was almost as upset as he is now. Soppy mare.

I don't think I have, tbh. I'm only really interested in how they're going to bring this to a conclusion. All the nastiness is 'local colour' and not really helping.

So this would not be the point to tell you that you have to watch three further series of Ashes to Ashes before you learn who Gene Hunt actually is?

I think two series of this is more than enough for me. But it's been interesting, especially since it's set somewhere I know.

I think I felt a bit like that when it first came out. It's actually more interesting when you know what happens.

I told you they'd leave you with a question. He's dead, according to Nelson.

It's rather reminiscent of Brazil. Happy - sort of.

I'm going to have to watch Ashes to Ashes now - see how that fits in.

M1795537OCVirn
That's better. Him coming back to reality was too boring and clean. Leave him wallowing in the 'grit'.
And in case you think I don't know about that grit, in 1973 I was homeless. In t'north.

Thst's entirely your decision. It overexplains it for me. I like a bit of mystery, loose ends untied. Much more scope that way.
