I'm enjoying Ashes to Ashes, by the way. I always wondered why I remembered Gene as saying 'Fire up the Quattro' - but of course the Quattro was the AtoA car. I really liked the first two series of Ashes of Ashes. The social class and gender tensions between Gene and Alex made a good pivot for the show. Hated the third series and the denouement was an unmitigated cataclysm for the whole LoM/AtA shooting match. Decent soundtrack overall, though not quite as satisfyingly outré as Life on Mars - they definitely played it a bit safer. Probably under orders to secure bigger CD sales. And not sure why they used some '70s tracks, good as they are. |
