If the Admiral wants them to 'heave to' they're going to have to stop scrubbing and grab the sheets.

The Onedin LIne had a good theme tune, too.

Love a bit of Vaughan Williams.

Philistine!
The music behind the opening credits of the series is an excerpt from the Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia from the ballet Spartacus by Aram Khachaturian.

Sorry. I knew that but got confused anyway. D'oh!!

Why has that ship got one of its side lights on its bow?

Is there just the 3 of them? They're doomed, I tell ye.

Update: it does have sidelights on the stern. but they're the wrong way round. That ship looks as if it's sailing backwards!

That dreamy music was used on Space 1999

Evening all! No, I'm not watching, just passing, because the following caught my eye:

Drumnadrochit. Great name. That's where we found the Nessie merch shop. Bought a glass representation of you-know-who. Unfortunately, it lost some of its tail and neck over the years. Now it's just a blob, and some happy memories!

One of the many places I haven't been.

One of the few places I have been – yonks ago on a tour to Urquhart Castle. Wasn't there also a Nessie museum?

I never watched Stingray. It aired in Germany around 1990. I remember that I went round to my parents and found my dad, then already an OAP, glued to his seat watching Stingray, although he never was a fan of sci-fi!
So, I don't know about Nessie in Stingray. But in the following excerpt, you can see Nessie in all her glory. (Don't mind the dialogue.)

How can one man sail a ship that size?

A couple of rather odd episodes this week. Are we watching more next week, or are we going on to something else?

Taiellin
Well, it was odd, all right, but the sailing ship somehow captivated me.

OK boss - what are we doing next week?

So - neither of those episodes had any hint of the nasty bad underwater people we met earlier. And the HQ didn't have to hide underground or anything. An interesting change of pace. And since the rest of you (regrettably) voted (not Taiellin, obviously) to move away from Stingray next week, if you want to watch more, you can find it on Youtube.

Stingray was ok. Thunderbirds was much better. Captain Scarlet is brilliant.

OSP Wanted UFO next. I wouldn't mind a bit more Stingray, though.

OK, I need to go and put the rubbish out. See you next week for whatever we're watching!
