Anyone can communicate with plants. They are sensetive, you know. My brother tells a tale of when he was working wlith primitive tribes in the jungle (don't ask) he noticed that when they planted their crops, the people talked to each alternate plant, telling it how big and strong it would grow etc. But why only alternate plants? Bro asked. Because the ones in between will get jealous and try to grow even better than the 'favourite' ones, it was explained to him. Patiently.

Brilliant. I'm going to tell my middle brother I know he will give me the best xmas pressie...

One day we should all take time off and binge-watch a whole series of something.

How are your students this term, AnneA?

I've only seen them once, but they seem to be a nice bunch.

Always a good thing. Right, I think I shall go back to making the cats a new cushion to sleep on. They keep stealing the dog's one, which isn't popular. Have a good week, OSP, and a good fortnight AnneA. Bye.

See you all the week after next! Have a good fortnight!

Seems so quiet without CB.

Would that be 'good quiet' or 'bad quiet'? Is quiet better than riot? Nice to be missed, though. Lol.

SUGGESTION FOR A ONE-OFF NEXT THURS: I should be OK for next week, though not the week after (back in the Neths pre-birthday), so any chance of slotting in that bit of 'Pre-B7 Heaven' I bang on about: the star-studded Brian Clemens 'Thriller' featuring David Jackson in a cop cameo? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZCdL...amp;t=600s

As for kids' cereals... How about 'The Clifton House Mystery'? A ghostly ghosty one from 1978 or 1979 IIRC. Haven't seen it for ages, maybe it's total bilge, but might be worth checking out.

Looking much further ahead, is 'Ashes to Ashes' REALLY out of bounds? Even a few selected eps? Love LoM but preferred AtA. You get the extra gender & class clash on top of the timey-wimey stuff. The chemistry/tension between Philip G and Keeley Hawes was off the chart. IMO.

Thriller is a good suggestion. Did we watch the one with Stephen Greif? I'm thinking, if we did, it was during one of your sabbaticals. Anyway. The DJ one is good.
Clifton House Mystery sounds familiar. A good children's serial from yesteryear is always worth a watch.

However...
I completely dissgree with you re Ashes to Ashes. Nothing can better Life on Mars. But I seem to recall that AA expressed a desire to see A to A (I may be mistaken) if so, I will go with the flow. But I will be watching with my eyes closed and my fingers in my ears, saying la la la...
M'Virn did say it would be nice to see a series through from start to finish (meaning 1 series not the whole shebang, I think).
I appear to be speaking on other people's behalf here. Perhaps deflecting from my antipathy towards A to A....Angry
We have been watching mostly British stuff. Maybe try another country. There was an interesting French series** about going to Mars a few years back. Not sure if that is available anywhere. I will check...if only I could remember its title...Grin

** Missions
I haven't found it free to stream. If anyone is interested to try please do. Got a DUST feel to it.

Ditch AtA. Height of bonkers to rewatch something someone has such a visceral loathing of. Not that I understand it. Personally, my main problem is the intrusion of 'No More Heroes' and 'Are Friends Electric?' into the soundtrack, 25-carat classics though they be.

Relieved you recalled the name of that French series. Saved me the trouble of emailing retired executives from the French national broadcaster on Monday to get hold of the info for you.Smile

That's really sad. I saw the 1st series and it was really interesting and a bit mind blowing.

I feel bad about that. I say if everyone wants to watch it then let's do it. SadGrin
And the whole French nation heaves with a collective sigh that they don't have to face the onslaught of a CB attack...

Interesting. I found it in Russian, and it is free. Thanks for suggestion. Maybe I should watch it one day.
It is a pity that I missed Metropolis and Space: 1999. I hope I will be able to join you next time. Anything you choose is fine. See you.

Wait a minute. I found English subtitles for Missions: https://ww.lordfilm17.ru/serialy/2002...-2017.html
I wanted to make a photo but couldn't do it. Will you be able to sort this out?
You can change TV shows for Eng.Original in the video, and there you have it.

There's nothing to feel bad about. Just bin it. It's always better to watch personal 'faves' among volunteers rather than conscripts or, in this instance, conscientious objectors. I'll have another selective shufty at AtA soon enough in any case.

Let me point out, yet again, I AM NOT THE BOSS.
