Anyone can communicate with plants. They are sensetive, you know. My brother tells a tale of when he was working wlith primitive tribes in the jungle (don't ask) he noticed that when they planted their crops, the people talked to each alternate plant, telling it how big and strong it would grow etc. But why only alternate plants? Bro asked. Because the ones in between will get jealous and try to grow even better than the 'favourite' ones, it was explained to him. Patiently. Brilliant. How about 'The Clifton House Mystery'? A ghostly ghosty one from 1978 or 1979 IIRC. Haven't seen it for ages, maybe it's total bilge, but might be worth checking out. Looking much further ahead, is 'Ashes to Ashes' REALLY out of bounds? Even a few selected eps? Love LoM but preferred AtA. You get the extra gender & class clash on top of the timey-wimey stuff. The chemistry/tension between Philip G and Keeley Hawes was off the chart. IMO. |

I'm thinking, if we did, it was during one of your sabbaticals. Anyway. The DJ one is good. Clifton House Mystery sounds familiar. A good children's serial from yesteryear is always worth a watch. However... I completely dissgree with you re Ashes to Ashes. Nothing can better Life on Mars. But I seem to recall that AA expressed a desire to see A to A (I may be mistaken) if so, I will go with the flow. But I will be watching with my eyes closed and my fingers in my ears, saying la la la... M'Virn did say it would be nice to see a series through from start to finish (meaning 1 series not the whole shebang, I think). I appear to be speaking on other people's behalf here. Perhaps deflecting from my antipathy towards A to A....  We have been watching mostly British stuff. Maybe try another country. There was an interesting French series** about going to Mars a few years back. Not sure if that is available anywhere. I will check...if only I could remember its title...

my antipathy towards A to A. Ditch AtA. Height of bonkers to rewatch something someone has such a visceral loathing of. Not that I understand it. Personally, my main problem is the intrusion of 'No More Heroes' and 'Are Friends Electric?' into the soundtrack, 25-carat classics though they be. Relieved you recalled the name of that French series. Saved me the trouble of emailing retired executives from the French national broadcaster on Monday to get hold of the info for you.  |

I feel bad about that. I say if everyone wants to watch it then let's do it. There's nothing to feel bad about. Just bin it. It's always better to watch personal 'faves' among volunteers rather than conscripts or, in this instance, conscientious objectors. I'll have another selective shufty at AtA soon enough in any case. |
