Nobody has posted anything so I have posted this Christmassy film with a Who connection.

I like it. I hope you do too.

Here's the link:

Don't think I've ever seen this one (and I haven't done any sneaky peeking). Good choice!

What a shame. If you've not seen this short film, it's quite nice. Love Capaldi!

Ok, I need to wait for less than an hour, and then I will be able to join you. I will try to do this. Also I have a few suggestions as to what we can watch next time.

1. The famous cartoon The Snow Queen. It is based on the story by H. C. Andersen, and Miyazaki told a lot of good things about this cartoon. And I wholeheartedly agree with him.

2. 12 Months. This cartoon is based on the story by Samuil Marshak who in turn took inspiration from a fairy tale. A girl goes in the forest in the winter to find snowdrops and meets twelve brothers who seem to be the real months. There are different versions of this story. I know of the Japanese version, where the girl should have found strawberries.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcEKX...mp;t=2194s

3. Wizards. It is not a cartoon for a change. In this movie we can see a unique institution. People there make all sorts of interesting things, including the magic wand. One of the workers Alyona is in love with the guy Ivan who doesn't know anything about this place where she works. The leader of this organization is tricked. She thinks that Alyona threatens her happiness and tries to bewitch her. Alyona forgets the man she loves, and Ivan tries to win her love again.
I suggest this story because it happens in winter before the New Year. The heroes celebrate it in the end, and this movie creates the necessary mood. If you don't have subtitles, you need to turn them on in the video, because they are there.
The movie is divided into two parts and if you choose this movie, we can stop after the first one.

Now I'm worried. I only meant that I was glad it was something I didn't already know. But perhaps I have already fallen into OSP's cunning trap. Not long to wait to find out,

If you haven't already had a quick peek, this film starts without any intro.

Are we waiting for AA? Taiellin may be joining us, too.

I was very good and didn't have a sneak peek, but stopped straight after the adverts, just in case it was one of those where they tell you half the story and then do the credits. Shall we start? Or did you do that already?

Triumvrate, surely. You can be the woman with the teeth, I'm Servalan and Taiellin can be the mummy.

The only triumvirate I know is the Roman one featuring Octavius, wotsizname and the other one

Hello. I'm here, late as usual, and haven't had any dinner yet. I will have to get some in about 15 minutes. And I'm thoroughly fed up with myself - one of my students wanted to know about Old French texts with facing page translations, and I couldn't find any. But I'm here, and I've started. And we've already had an exploding camper van!

Taiellin
It is a pity to go abroad when you should play in the school play.

I was an angel, and didn't enjoy it. Then they discovered that I was rather good at doing the readings and I got to do them - and I did enjoy that.

There was a woman who strongly reminded me of Harriet Jones from Doctor Who.

I think that's the quietest I've ever seen him.

My brother's camper van nearly exploded. It must be a thing with them.

Hi, AnneA, Students can be such a pain, can't they! Still, better than not having a job, I suppose.

I think her request was quite reasonable, actually - I'm angry with myself for not doing something about it sooner, and with the university library for being useless.

How is the panto going? Have you sorted out the problems with the VIP tea yet?

Come on, M 'Virn, 'fess up. You were the inn keeper weren't you? "No room at the inn, so hop it!"

I was wondering where the store security people were. It must be in the olden days, before CCTV and everything.

Do you want to know why we have the New Year Day and the Old New Year Day?

Is it the Gregorian calendar and the Julian calendar? They still celebrated the Old New Year in parts of Scotland into last century. And I think the date of the Shetland festival of Up Helly Aa is the Old New Year.
