Yes, lots of American police dramas, I think.

The psi corps are starting to sound a bit questionable, even if Chekov is one of them.

Yes . . .

AnneArthur
The way he lets you know he is reading your mind, when, legally, he shouldn't be.

It's another reworking of the 'power corrupts, absolute power corrupt absolutely'. Overcoming psi power is going to be difficult.

The graphics are holding up better than the dialogue so far.

Indeed it is. But here, they are not entirely in the wrong - Ironheart is clearly unbalanced, and clearly dangerous, although again it is the Psi Corps' recklessness that has made him that way.

Don't say they're human!!

One Babylon 5 fansite I have seen has sections for 'dialogue to wind back for' and 'dialogue to fast forward past' - it is patchy, to say the least.

M1795537OCVirn
Ironheart is going to burn himself out if he goes on like this.

There are a lot of complaints about the computer graphics, but I agree with you - I think they hold up well.

AnneArthur
I like the structure of the station - the hydroponic gardens, the core shuttle, the different sectors.

Do you suppose Cygnus 795 is near Cygnus Alpha (relatively)?

The alien Thing being a kind of Super-Vargas? I like it. I think it might well be quite near.

M1795537OCVirn
They're blaming Chekov for the recklessness of Psi Corps?

AnneArthur
This is rather a naff story, I think, but it is the first time we see Bester.

Yup.

It's only really naff when it hits concepts that neither writer nor audience have any way of conceptualising! Let alone making a physical/visual representation.

Also it might have been Sigma 579 not Cygnus anything. A pity.

The actor who played G'Kar had a lovely voice, I think.

Yes, I think you're right, I think it is Sigma. I always feel that the graphic for the 'Super-Jason' lets it down rather.

OK, that's this week. I'm afraid that I'm at a tedious meeting next week (a very tedious church meeting) but hopefully OSP and Lorna will be here - and then hopefully we'll all be here the week after!

M1795537OCVirn
Well it's still a bit Star Trek-y in that there always has to be a safe conclusion/resolution (it's an American thing) but B5 has possibilities. Thanks for the sugegstions.
So S01 E's 12 and 13 next week?

M1795537OCVirn
Oh, no! Not joining us next time? But you can watch your B5 anytime, I guess.
Watching two did work quite well.
OK, I'll wish you a good night and a good week. Are you still job-hunting? Hope you find something soon.

I think 8 'And the Sky Full of Stars' might be an important one, so you might want to think about it. I'll be sorry to miss 12 - it's a favourite of mine.

AnneArthur
It gets much less episodic later, and becomes much more one story.

Good night, and have a good week. See you on Saturday for the return of Herself?

Maybe we should do 8 and 10, or something, next time, leaving 12 for when you can be here?

OK, I'll be very careful. I don't think Ko Dath's fate is much of a spolier - this is her last appearance (the actor clearly wasn't keen on the makeup).

I have watched all of B5. More than once. No worries, I knew this.

I do wonder how people manage to watch so much TV and remember every detail.

So do I. As you can tell from The Word! I can't remember names in B7 from one week to the next!

I will be here next Thursday. Happy to do whatever eps you suggest. Continuing the theme of not being able to remember all the details, every time I watch an episode of B5 I pick up on a bit of a clue or some foreshadowing that I failed to notice on previous watches/rewatches. JMS, the creator of B5, put these in right from the start. It's one of the things I love about this show...he didn't rush to tell all its secrets in 1 series.

Lorna
I hope to be there on Thursday! I love watching Season 1 and seeing all the things that you didnt notice at the time but were important later on.
I look behind me, what do I see? A pair of golden wings seem to be attached to me.

I would appreciate that! It doesn't really affect what comes after.

AnneArthur
I won't be watching with you, but I hope that my tedious meeting will be over in time to let me join in the thread in real time.
