We were deeply saddened to learn that dear Michael Keating has died, aged 79.

Michael was a lovely, kind and generous man who was always ready to chat to anyone and everyone. He loved meeting and interacting with his many fans and was hugely supportive over the years with our various fundraising initiatives. He was also probably the most naturally funny person I've ever met - no forced humour, he just WAS lovely, and funny, without even knowing it.

Perfectly cast as the amiable, talented but cowardly thief Vila Restal (being the only cast member to appear in all 52 televised Blake's 7 episodes) - he was also a truly talented actor, completely convincing in every part he played, whether on stage, screen or audio. A consummate professional but also a very down to earth person, popular with everyone who was lucky enough to work with him.

Horizon is preparing a longer obituary/tribute which this sad announcement will link to when ready, but in the meantime we send our deepest condolences to his wife Sue, daughter Lisa, and all his family and friends who loved him.

The world is a sadder, emptier place without Michael in it and we will miss him always. Rest peacefully, dear Michael.
