Nah, Cistercians are monks, not friars.

Brother Athelstan is always saying that. What's the diff?

Monks retreat from the world to live in community in abbeys. At the end of the twelfth century/beginning of the thirteenth, this got less respect than previously - some people were beginning to feel that they led quite a cushy life in their isolation. The friars were founded in response to this - they lived in community, but their houses tended to be in towns, and they left them to preach, teach, and instruct the laity in the faith.

I was wondering about that. They have chucked the name in a lot with no explanation.

Well, he wears a hood. Mind you, on that basis they could just call him Robin Trousers.

Of course. The villains don't learn from their mistakes. They should have killed Robin at once.

Nobody really knows. Lots of ideas about it though. Just do a Google search.

Always kill the hero at once. Do not make a speech to him. Above all, do not let him make a speech.

First, you'd need to find out if he was real, or just a legend. Or a symbol of hope.

If all villains complied with this rule, we didn't have half of the stories.

Did Paul Darrow have a clause in his contract that he had to wear studs in every series he appeared in? They don't really work here.

Be fair. They are fitting the whole Robin Hood story into just 6 episodes.

Rather a lot of them though.
I think they were just easy to draw for the people in props/costumes.
